Scanning

There's often the misconception that the majority of flat bed desk-top scanners are capable of digitally converting accurate detail and faithful colour tones from hard copy originals. This sadly is not the case.

Output have invested time and money in perfecting their scanning quality standards. Hard copy originals, negatives and transparencies up to 476mm x 320mm can be scanned into digital data at resolutions in excess of 8000 dots per inch (equivalent to enlarging a 35mm slide up to A1 at 300 dpi). Files are then carefully colour matched to their originals on Barco calibrated display stations. The files can then be supplied as either high or low resolution images (low resolution images are exchanged for the retained high resolution file at film output stage).
